April Newsletter 2026 Recap: A Month of Experiences, Growth, and Community

See how Legacy scholars grew through field trips, family engagement, and academic programs in our April Newsletter recap.

March was a month filled with meaningful opportunities for Legacy scholars to learn, connect, and grow. As highlighted in our April Newsletter, these experiences continue to shape both academic development and personal confidence.

At Legacy Foundation of Hartford, we remain committed to creating environments where students are supported, challenged, and encouraged to explore new possibilities—both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Highlights from March

  • Experiential Learning Beyond the Classroom: Scholars participated in a range of enriching experiences, including Ski Day at Ski Sundown, golf lessons at TPC River Highlands, Monster Jam, and a Hartford Wolf Pack hockey game. These opportunities encouraged confidence, teamwork, and exposure to new environments.
  • Family Engagement and Community Building: Events like Parent Line Dancing Night brought families together, reinforcing the importance of connection and partnership in supporting student success.
  • Scholar Spotlights and Student Achievement: Scholars demonstrated leadership, service, and curiosity—whether through community involvement or engaging with meaningful cultural and historical experiences.
  • Teaching, Connection, and Academic Growth: Our approach continues to center on small group learning, mentorship, and intentional engagement. Students are encouraged to think critically, participate actively, and build strong academic habits.
  • Saturday Academy in Action: Weekly sessions provide scholars with consistent opportunities to collaborate, problem-solve, and strengthen their skills in a supportive environment.

Why This Work Matters

Each experience—whether academic, social, or community-based—plays a role in shaping how scholars see themselves and what they believe is possible. When students feel supported and connected, they are more likely to take risks, engage deeply, and grow with confidence.
