January at Legacy highlights academic growth, alumni connections, scholar achievements, and experiences made possible by donor support.
January reflected the steady impact of donor support across the Legacy Foundation of Hartford community. Because of your generosity, scholars began the year with consistent academic support, meaningful connections, and experiences that extended learning beyond the classroom.
In January, donor support helped make the following possible:
- Scholars strengthened reading comprehension, math skills, and classroom confidence through regular use of MindPlay and IXL, reinforced by family encouragement at home.
- Families were supported as active partners in learning, helping scholars build routines that contribute to steady academic progress.
- Legacy alumni returned to share their college journeys, offering guidance, perspective, and reassurance that support continues well beyond graduation.
- Learning expanded outside the classroom through shared experiences, including a UConn men’s basketball game, a Hartford Wolf Pack hockey game, and a trip to Disney on Ice—providing exposure, connection, and joy.
- Scholar achievements were celebrated, including Adalia’s first-place finish at the Spirit Sport Cheer Competition and Myah Allen’s second-place recognition in the Patriot’s Pen Essay Competition.
- Scholars continued engaging in consistent learning during Saturday Academy through reading, writing, collaboration, and discussion.
Behind each of these moments is a scholar gaining confidence and a family feeling supported. The progress seen in January reflects what sustained investment makes possible and why donor partnership remains essential.
